The Shepherd’s Center staff, Board of Directors, and a host of volunteers work in concert to coordinate events, services, and projects that benefit our communities.

BOARD MEMBERS
- Nancy Devera
- Pat Sawhney – Pat became a Realtor in 1975 upon moving to Annandale in 1974. Previously, she worked for many senior directors of Financial Aid, Architecture School, and Education Departments at Cornell University. Since becoming a Realtor, her business has concentrated on marketing the homes of seniors moving on to the next stage of their lives, locally or in other states, to be near family. Pat has been instrumental in selling homes with proceeds earmarked as funds for a move into senior living facilities. Pat continues to work full time as an Associate Broker with RE/MAX 100. She enjoys being able to help within our community as a member of over 40 years of the Annandale Chamber of Commerce.
- Dolores Vestrich
- Dick Stewart – Dick was born and raised in Buffalo NY. He is a graduate of U of Buffalo in Economics and has an MA in Public Finance from George Washington University. Dick served in the US Army and had a variety of jobs in the Buffalo area until he moved to Virginia in1965, where he worked for the Defense Department as a management analyst. He was married to Martha Kwasniewski and has four children and 10 Grandchildren. Dick was widowed and is now married to Cindy Hollingshead. He is a member of Hope Lutheran Church where he has served in a variety of capacities. Dick is an original member of the Shepherd Center Board and served as Board Chairman for 10 years.
- Barbara Gatorian – Barbara is our current Board Chair. She has worked and volunteered at SCAS for 8 years, 7 as Office Director and Board member. Barbara worked at NASA Federal Credit Union for 36 years where she retired as the Vice President of Lending. Barbara loves to travel with her husband Teddy who also volunteers at SCAS.
- Tom Eversole – Tom is a new member of the board of directors of the Shepherd’s Center of Annandale-Springfield. Tom was a member of the Shepherd’s Center of McLean-Arlington-Falls Church board of directors and served as the Executive Director and RideScheduler Coordinator until November 2019. He completed a twenty-three year Navy career in 1986 and began a second career in industry that same year. Tom started an aviation consulting business in 1995 where he served until November 2015. He then expanded his expertise to become the Chief Financial Officer of a defense contracting firm in Arlington, VA. Tom was instrumental in helping organize NV Rides (a coalition of transportation providers) and serves on the NV Rides advisory council and the board of directors of the Shepherd’s Center of Great Falls.
- Margo Bendery – Margo is our Board Treasurer replacing the irreplaceable Fred Chatelain. Before following her husband to northern Virginia in the 1980s, she lived and worked in Massachusetts. As a Virginia immigrant, she worked for a biomedical company for nine years and then moved on to property management for another fifteen years before retiring in 2017.
