Our services are available free of charge to anyone age fifty (50) or older who no longer drives and who resides in Annandale, Springfield, Franconia and areas in Alexandria. There are no income-level requirements. Financial contributions are appreciated.
Transportation
We work with volunteer drivers who provide rides for Seniors to medical and dental offices, grocery stores, banks, food banks and a host of other locations. Please call the Shepherd’s Center five (5) business days (weekends are not included) before you need to schedule a volunteer driver.

Handy Helpers
Volunteers service minor home repairs to keep a Senior’s home safe. If you need help with small maintenance jobs, call and we will have one of our Handy Helpers contact you to discuss your needs. There is no labor charge, but you must pay for all required materials.
Friendly Caller
A Friendly Caller is a volunteer who makes regular telephone calls to older adults who live alone who may have limited contact with others and needs some social interaction.
